What do you do when the school is a bit boring?
Me & Viktor Briand (a fellow student) had a conversation one evening which turned into a super-duper funny project 2 months later. We created a cultural concept to gather more students together and stregthen our well-being. Through table-tennis of course.

The visual identity
Early in the proces I made a visual identity for the project so we could create content fast.
The typography needed to communicate the texture of a gorilla - Darumadrop One was a perfect match for this.
Through the colors I wanted to give a playful feeling. Also the choice of colors originates from original table tennis colors + the pink color to give a bubble-gum vibe when paired with the blue.
Then, decision for a logo came - after playing around with the letters PP+KK, I arranged it as a monogram. Additionally, a wordmark was made to communicate the whole name of the project.
Finally I art directed and sketched a illustration of a human arm playing table tennis against KingKong and asked one of my classmates to paint it for me. Thanks Stinna :-D
Fundraising
One day after in a small period of huge doubt about the realisation of the project (because we had no money) I stubbled into the president of the university. The boss of the bosses. He was piss tired and I said I only needed 30 seconds of his precious time.
At this time, when I said PingPong med KingKong, I got a laugh and a huge smile out of people - and as soon as I told the president about the project he was in love. I told him I needed 10.000 DKK and that we wanted to power the socials at the school.
I convinced him and got the money to realize the project.

10.000 DKK later...
We got money from the school. 10.000 danish kroner.
We bought 100 table tennis bats and nearly as many balls.

We made the merch, the banners, the stickers (which we bombarded at the school), we bought a KingKong costume, we made interactive posters and printed them. We even made a song and published it on Spotify. The idea behind the song was that it was going to be playing when we wanted to call in for a new round of table tennis.
For this event we even made a play where KingKong was having his time at the table tennis party and suddenly Madamé KingKong appears…. KingKong falls in love with her and ends up seducing her.
